The CfERI celebrated five years this years of existence in the TVET Sector particularly Gert Sibande TVET College with an outstanding performance and impact on SMME development. The purpose of the CfERI is to provide none other than entrepreneurial support and training to college graduates who chooses to venture into businesses.
A number of students and graduates has been trained and skilled on enterprise development for the year 2019 and with some having successfully registering their business.
The Centre also opens its doors to the general Public, who operates Small businesses. We have worked with various community centres in the Province to train and formalise businesses that have been trading informally.
Through the interventions of the CfERI it has successfully created sustainable businesses, Created permanent jobs, Linked SMMEs to markets and funding institutions.
The CFERI has an Incubation model which runs for a period of 3 year to build the fundamental aspect of business. Annually the Centre cohort attends a boot camp whereby there are intense sessions with business development officers. In these sessions Entrepreneurs pitch for funding and over R100 000 was awarded to the successful businesses.
Such an event also creates confidence for the incubates to boldly face the world of business. It has been proven that after such successful boot camps the participants have been readily available to continue and face the market.
We have assisted a number of businesses through our highly qualified and experience Business Development officers who have over 5years experience in Business Development
Through the Incubation model we have also assisted Entrepreneurs with Shared office and Workshop Facility. We are currently moving on a new and exciting era the world of high tech.The Maker Space gives access to SMME’s to design and print prototypes in 3D forms.
We looking forward to the New Financial year to stretch our services to the less advantage communities in Mpumalanga.
