Welcome remarks from the Office of the Acting Principal: Mr. Phuti Modiba

Dear Esteemed Staff and Colleagues,

I am delighted to welcome every one of you back to Gert Sibande TVET College for the start of the 2024 academic year. I trust that your well-deserved break has left you rejuvenated and ready to take on the exciting challenges and opportunities that await us.

As we embark on this new chapter, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude for your dedication and hard work in upholding the standards of excellence that define our institution. The impact of your commitment to providing quality higher education teaching and occupational skills programmes to our students cannot be overstated, and I am truly proud of the contributions each of you makes to our college's mission every day.

This year, we have the opportunity to build on our past successes and continue to innovate and inspire. Together, let us nurture an environment that fosters creativity, critical thinking, and inclusivity, ensuring that every student who walks through our doors has the opportunity to excel and achieve their fullest potential.

I am excited about the possibilities that lie ahead and I‘m confident that, with our collective expertise and passion, we will achieve remarkable outcomes for our students and our community.

Let us remember that each one of us is here with the responsibility to contribute to enhancing teaching and learning - which is our core business and mandate as a College. The first level of evaluation and assessment for all of us is the academic achievements of our students, ensuring that we produce workplace-ready students ready to contribute to the national skills shortage that our country is facing.

On behalf of the Executive Management and Council, welcome back colleagues. Let us embrace the year ahead with optimism, determination, and a shared commitment to the success of our college and the individuals we serve.

Here is to a productive and rewarding 2024 for us all.

Warm regards,

Mr. Phuti Modiba
