Gert Sibande Tvet College

Our Logo

G shape in the logo is the first letter of our District which was also named after Mr Richard Gert Sibande who was a leader among farm workers in the Eastern Transvaal. He was born in the Ermelo district in 1907, the son of a tenant farmer. He received no formal schooling but taught himself to be literate in Zulu.

The meaning of the College Logo Colours:

Green:  Represents the nature of education

Blue:    Represents hope and a bright future

Gold:    Represents education as a mineral of the future

The College logo colours compliment the beacon of hope that the college represents in the lives of the people of Mpumalanga Province, specifically in the Gert Sibande Region.

The colour GREEN represents the nature of education as it symbolizes growth and has a strong emotional correspondence with safety. The colour also represents the greener pastures that the college will lead you to.

Nothing could be more beautiful than the BLUE colour of the sky and the sea to represent hope and a bright future. Blue is considered beneficial to the mind and body.

Last but definitely not least is the colour GOLD which speaks to the wealth of Mpumalanga Province from which the sun rises. Gold is a precious metal that is associated with prosperity, sparkle, love, compassion, courage and wisdom that you would be led to by Gert Sibande TVET College.
